Nobel laureates visit Chisinau to discuss with Moldovan researchers and youth
A significant day for science in the Republic of Moldova occurred when two Nobel Prize laureates, Japanese physicist Hiroshi Amano and American professor James Rothman, visited the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (ASM). During their visit, they met with researchers, professors, and young students. Hiroshi Amano, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2014 for his invention of blue light-emitting diodes, delivered a public lecture. Both scientists were appointed honorary members of the ASM and received the prestigious "Dimitrie Cantemir" medal.
